Campervans are a pleasurable way to travel and explore New Zealand’s impressive South Island, with frequent tea breaks.
As I set out on my journey with a rented New Zealand Campervan, I was awestruck by the sight of snow-capped mountains bordered by an electric-blue coloured freezing lake. I wanted to soak up this stunning sight for sometime so I opened the back doors of the hire motor home and sat there for a long time admiring the view with a cup of tea.
After this, I started my exciting Campervan Holiday exploring the South Island. I initiated my New Zealand holiday on the eastern side, in Christchurch. I also explored Queenstown located in the south-western region. I then moved towards a stunning mountain range understandably called the Remarkables!
The five hour drive from Queenstown is wonderful, and considered among the most splendid drives worldwide. As soon as I arrived at Milford, I realized that this is the most amazing place i`ve ever seen.
Milford Sound is irrefutably the most well-known fjord and a major tourist destination in New Zealand. It is a misty, unpopulated national park with a verdant rainforest clutching perilously to the sides of the mountains which protrude out of the sea. Countless wonderful waterfalls develop whenever it rains in this expanse, sluicing down the cliff-faces and lofty mountains.
After Milford Sound, I set out towards the west coast en route for the Franz Josef glacier. You can either go trekking or indulge in a massage and a blisssful soak in a hot pool nearby.
After this stopover with my Hire Campervan NZ the glorious beaches of the northwest shoreline gradually ebbed and made way for the thriving vineyards of the Marlborough district. The magnificent Abel Tasman National Park is definitely worth a stopover and is an enthralling place with the emerald-green sea and dazzling sandy beaches.
I enjoyed this trip in utmost comfort due to my New Zealand Campervan. This vehicle resembled a hotel room on wheels with self-catering facilities. For your convenience, there is a shower and lavatory along with amenities such as a fridge, kitchen sink, toaster, kettle and cooking utensils. Cook a mouth-watering meal in the galley and then simply fold out a table from the side of the vehicle and eat al fresco.
I found the NZ Campervan amazingly easy to drive. Park the vehicle during the nighttime in campsites and enjoy internet connection, relaxed hot showers and electricity. I also went free camping, occasionally. A good conciliation between free camping and a campsite is a stopover in Department of Conservation (DOC) campsites. These sites have essential conveniences and are quite scenic as well.
A Hire Campervan is undoubtedly the best way to explore New Zealand. You don’t have to book hotels beforehand and you can zoom off whenever and wherever you want. At camp sites, powered sites have many services including cooking facilities, dumping stations and provisions for hot showers. Hire a Campervan and experience the wonders of this fantastic country on your next New Zealand holiday.
