We had an excellent time and the service and quality of the HiTop 3 berth Alpha campervan we hired was very good. We had no problems with the vehicle, it ran very well and was also quite economical. It was a bit expensive, but that might be because we booked very late and it was at the time of the Rugby World Cup. I have to point out that you did a great job in all areas, like explaining us the campervan, as well as help us with our problem. We had some problem with the battery, which you solve for us in a few minutes, and that even far away from a big city.
I also like the chat function on your homepage, because otherwise i am pretty sure that there wasn't any way to get a campervan. Your homepage was telling us that you are booked out, but after chatting I recieved a email on the day after with an offer.

We really did go to New Zealand just for tourism not for the Rugby Wold Cup, in any case we finally went to a rugby match.
The experience with the booking of the campervan was great. All the people of Wilderness Motorhomes were so kind and helpfull.
The vehicle was good and we had not any problem.

Good points:
Pacific Horizon people were really friendly and professional at the pick up and delivery of the camper van.
Good information provided on camping grounds available and address of sites.
Good to talk with some French speaking personnel.
Improvement:
The point that could be improved would be a dedicated mark area for pick up at the Auckland airport to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.

Thank you so much for your wonderful assistance. My family was desparately looking for a 6/7 berth motorhome to take us around the South Island in October 2011. Our time happened to coincide with the Rugby World Cup so everything I found was fully booked!
You and the rentacamperva.co.nz's online real-time chat were a godsend. I've tried all other resources only to come up empty. We were on the verge of calling it quit and move our vacation to another country when I accidentally stumbled across your website.
We took about 2-3 days to finalize the campervan reservation given the complexity of our requirements and other constraints, e.g. having 7 people therefore needing 7 seatbelts plus a few child seats. Having to deal with the communication from thousands of miles across different timezones also added further frustrations.
However, at all times you were patient, flexible, and prompt with our littlest requests. We would like to sincerely thank you for helping to make our dream vacation a reality.
The only minor complaint is that your website was not among the first ones found on the internet, when infact I think it should be! Would have saved me a lot more time if I had found you sooner :-)

| We found your employees very helpful and our experience with the campervan great.
We drove 4300+ km after picking up the campervan in Auckland, driving around on the north island, going across on the ferry, and sightseeing the south island from top to bottom, and dropping off the campervan in Christchurch..
Our only recommendation would be increasing the ammenities in the campervan-ie. more dishes, silverware. glasses, etc.
Driving was a challenge at first since in the US we drive on the right side of the road. After adjusting to that, the driving was fine and the VW vehicle handled great.

| Hi - we loved the campervan and were sad to leave it. It had everything we needed and was really easy to drive and operate. This surprised me as I was a bit intimidated by its size when it was delivered - thank you for this too, what lovely service - it was great to meet you.
There were only just enough cutlery items / mugs etc which challenged us a bit at first. We bought a torch - this would have been a good addition to the inventory. And we found it tricky at first to organise our clothes - but I stopped being so fussy about what to wear after a few days and that was a relaxing decision in its own right!
This was definitely the best way to see the beautiful New Zealand country, and we were impressed at the facilities at the campervan sites - some were definitely quirky. We think we have the hang of it now and really hope to come back and do a bit less driving and more hanging out in some special places.

We had a fabulous holiday going from Christchurch to Dunedin, Te Anau, Queenstown and Wanaka and West Coast including Fran Josef glacier sightings. Campervans were roomy, clean and all five of us fitted in well with room. We used all cooking facilities which were easy to use and enabled us to cook good meals to feed all. Perhaps future customers could be warned about midgies on the West Coast however we were very grateful for the mosquito covering on all windows!!
Thank you for all your help - your very helpful staff both over the internet and at the depot certainly assisted in ensuring our holiday was one of the best holidays we have had!! |

| We had a great trip! The Britz Campervan was perfect. Just enough space for us, and flexibility to use the "living space" in different ways made it a lot of fun. It was never a problem to find fuel (diesel), and everywhere we went, we were able to park, and maneuver easily. We're really glad we didn't get the larger bus-size RV vehicles, as so many of the roads in new Zealand are narrow and involve very sharp turns and switchbacks both ascending and descending the mountains. The van-size vehicle was just right!
The staff were very professional, and when we experienced a small stone that cracked the windscreen on the far left size, we called and were told to continue our trip without delay, as long as the crack didn't get larger or obstruct our vision for safe driving. Luckily we had paid for the comprehensive insurance, so it cost nothing!

| First of all, a very happy and prosperous new year to you and your team.
Indeed many thanks for your kind assistance all along towards providing me a wonderful campervan.
It was a road trip of a lifetime for me. Exploring the country in a campervan was first of its kind for me and towards the end I thoroughly enjoyed this unique trip along with my family.
The vehicle was perfect without any issues all thru the trip. The best part of hiring a campervan was that I could keep driving and halt and rest wherever I like and continue my journey without any glitch.
In all, I drove 3500 kms in two weeks starting from Auckland all the way down south to Dunedin along the east coast by the south pacific ocean. I then drove back to Auckland from Dunedin along the west coast by the Tasman sea coast.
While the entire country is enchancting....south Island in particular is beyond words. My drive from Queenstown to Westport along the westcoast by the Tasman sea is simply the best part of my journey.
I am so smitten by the natural beauty of NZ that I don't mind settling there as a sheep shearer for a living :-)
In all, my heartfelt thanks to you for making my trip the best ever vacation with my family till date.

| We had a fantastic time in NZ, and when we come back next time (don't yet know when) we'll be back to rent another camper from you guys. The 4berth CHP campervan was a great machine--very economical. Manual transmission gave me a work-out, but that was good. Driving on the opposite side of the road was sometimes challenging, but that was all part of the experience that made if fun.
You guys have an excellent system for getting people out to see NZ. I was surprised at how free we were to camp just about anyplace we wanted to. We probably could have gone the whole time without going to a campground.
I have absolutely nothing but very positive to say about the whole experience.

| Our experience with Kea was absolutely awsome...From the first phone call to pick us up from the airport at Christchurch right to when we were delivered saftley back to Auckland airport we felt delighted that we had travelled NZ in a Kea. All staff were graceful, helpful, informative and welcoming. Our van went like a little beauty (6 berth turbo diesel) and we were given ampel maps with travel discounts NZ wide. We have travelled by campervan before and had the best experience possible with Kea. I would reccommend to travel with Kea, as we felt all our needs were met more than sufficently, from quality of vehicle, bedding,comfort,clenliness,customer service and we got great value for money. It was important to us to have a hassel free holiday and Kea campers definetley ensured this. "Tourism radio" I highly recommend as it gave us heaps of info, history and awsome music to travel with. We saw so much, but realized very quickly that we'd never have time to do everything we had planned, so instead we slowed down the pace and enjoyed our time in each location, with the thought we'd just have to come back and see the rest another time. Seeing the country with a campervan suited us perfectly, we are not big city people so loved exploring the country and staying in camp grounds, stopping at vineyards along the way and taking in all your breathtaking scenery. Early on, we decided on a camper van as a great, inexpensive way to make this happen. We shopped online for about 3 months, comparing price and options - which were all pretty similar for the time-frame and vehicle we were looking at. The folks at rentacampervan were very helpful, sometimes answering 2 or 3 emails a day while we figured out what we needed. Their friendliness and responsiveness won the day - they even allowed us to pay early to take advantage of fluxuation in the exchange rate, saving us a few hundred dollars on the deal! First of all thank you, especially Jonas for your diligent work in finding us a suitable motor home for our family (including 3 small children under 5) at what we know is an extremely busy time of year (Dec/Jan).
We found Rent A Campervan on the internet, and had an immediate response from Jonas about our enquiry. We had almost given up hope of our dream holiday in New Zealand, due to a catalogue of disasters with the travel company in booking our trip.
We were about to cancel our holiday because our travel agent could not find a 6 berth motor home suitable to fit 3 child seats at such short notice. However, Jonas has pulled out all the stops, working above and beyond normal working hours to secure us a suitable motor home.
