1) How costs are calculated

If I pick up my vehicle at 2.30pm on a Saturday and drop it off before 2.30pm on the following Saturday is this counted as a 7 day hire?

No, hires are calculated on a daily rate not a 24 hour basis. Therefore the first and last days are both counted when calculating the number of hire days, regardless of the time you pick up or drop off the vehicle. The above example would be an 8 day hire.

CALCULATION ERRORS

We will not honour calculation errors. Should a calculation error occur, we will charge for the shortfall.

2) Payment of costs

When do I have to pay the hire costs?

The deposit for the campervan is 10% to 20% (depend on type of vehicle) of the total hire cost and is subject to final confirmation of the availability of the vehicle. No amount will be taken from your credit card until the vehicle is confirmed and all credit card detail will be encrypted and securely transmitted. Our payment page uses 128 bit encryption to ensure highest level of security. This is shown by the Green padlock in the base of your browser screen. If the vehicle is confirmed and booked, the deposit amount is non refundable if you chose to cancel. Payment of the balance must reach us no later than 30days from the pickup date or made payment when the vehicle is pick up in the Depot**

( ** subject to vendor agreement) .  Full payment information will be provided with the booking confirmation.

3) Cancellation and Refunds

If I cancel my booking will my deposit be refunded?

The deposit will not be refunded upon cancellation. A minimum $50.00 credit card surcharge fee or higher (depending on what the depot charges) is applicable for any cancellation made in less than 24 hours.

The cancellation fees after confirmation are as follows:

35 days and over prior to pick up - 100% Deposit retained

7-24 days prior to pick up - 25% of balance total reservation cost

1 -6 days prior to pick up - 50% of balance total reservation cost

No Show, or day of pick up - 100% of balance total reservation cost

We recommend you take adequate Travel Insurance which may cover you for cancellation fees in certain circumstances.

4) Change of Drop Off Location

Can I change my drop off location at any time?

No.  Once travel has commenced a change of drop off location is always subject to confirmation and may incur the full cost of repositioning the vehicle to the original drop off location reserved.

5) Travel Insurance

I have Travel Insurance which covers damage to the vehicle. Do I need to pay or purchase vehicle insurance as well?

Some Travel Insurance policies make provision for you to be able to cover all or part of the Excess depends on the type of vehicle you hired. However, you should be aware that you must still pay a Bond to the vehicle.  If payment is by credit card, then the bond amount depends on the type of vehicle you hired will immediately be debited from the credit card account or imprint from your credit card.  Should you have an accident, then you make a claim from your travel insurance provider.  Payment of the said amount is per incident and should damage be incurred to the hired vehicle or third party property, a further Bond payment will be required. The Bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed depot and on the agreed drop off date, clean and undamaged, with no damage to third party property and with a full tank of fuel and empty toilet cassette.
